War Office to the General Officer Commanding, North China,
(Sent 9.10 p.m.)
No. 1919-Cipher. M.0. lb. During the continuance of the war it has been decided to leave at Tientsin only the 36th 8ikhe, and the Legation Guard will be found from them. The R,G.A. Legation Guard and the Commander and Staff of the North China
Command will be withdrawn and the troops who remain in
Tientsin will be placed in the South China Command. Please
cable the details of establishments for minimum administra-
time services, We are sending later full instructions as to
the personnel and the conveyance by sea. Please let Brigadier
General Barnardiston know.
